European schools will forbid to sell  beverages with sugar

Since 2018 comprehensive schools in the European Union countries will stop selling  soft beverages with sugar to children and teenagers — so-called "soft drinks".

As Ukrinform with reference to the European association of soft drinks producers — Unesda  reports, the initiative will not extend to fruit juice and natural mineral waters.

Fight against excessive sugar consumption by school students is conducted in many countries. Sweet soft drinks were forbidden at some schools in the USA and on Barbados. In the UK since April, 2017 the tax on sugar in soft drinks was implemented  and the program from  Ministry of Health which will decrease by 20%  content of sugar in the main categories of products for children is approved.
